Located on the revitalized, historic east end of Bozeman's Main street, our 8000 sq. ft. building has seen a century of action.
Originally a warehouse owned by the railroad, we thought this cool and funky old building had so much character it should live on as our dream - a bar, restaurant, local hang out for the whole community.
So we took it over and turned it into, what is in our opinion, the best damn bar and eatery around.
So swing in, grab a beer, a bite to eat and tell us how we're doing.
The Bar
Our handcrafted concrete bar is the energetic center of Ale Works. Offering a full menu, brews, premium liquors and wines, earning "Best Bar in Bozeman" honors three years running.
The Lounges
Two core dining areas in the heart of the action accommodate intimate dining for two, or lively gatherings of ten. Ample tables and booths create the perfect balance of energy and privacy.
The Grill Room
The only area for which we exclusively take reservations offers privacy and intimacy within its historic brick walls. For reservations call after 2 pm daily. Private parties and special occasions welcomed! Please see our Plan Your Event page for more info.
The Billiards Area
Five regulation-sized pool tables ringed by high-tops and corner booths make for an ideal place to pass long, cold Montana nights (or equally long, warm summer evenings) over a game of pool, a burger or fine steak, a shot of fine whiskey and a pint.
The Railcar
Our historic freightcar-turned-glassed-in dining room overlooks Main and is connected to the bar by glass garage doors and is a great option for groups. (Open seasonally)
Outdoor Patio
Great service and a sunny Southern exposure combine for the ultimate dining experience under Montana's Big Sky. (Open seasonally)
